Liverpool striker Darwin Núñez will be out for five Uruguay fixtures, while Tottenham midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur was banned for four matches. Uruguay’s next games in World Cup qualifying will be as host to Paraguay on Sept. 6 and four days later at Venezuela. Players from Uruguay got into a fight with spectators at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte following their team’s 1-0 loss to Colombia. Additionally, Núñez will pay a punishment of $20,000, Bentancur of $16,000, and Giménez, Olivera, and Araujo of $12,000 apiece at Nunez is suspended for five games and Bentancur for four following a scuffle during the Copa America.
Seven other Uruguay players will also pay a fine of $5,000 apiece.
